THE FLOOD

       A man stands on the porch of his home watching the flood waters rise. A rescue boat comes along and offers him a ride to safety. The man replies, "No thanks, God will help me."

       As the water rises he goes to the roof. Another rescue boat comes along and offers him a ride to safety. Again he says, "No thanks, I know God will save me."

       The water continues to rise and he is now standing on the top of the chimney. Along comes a rescue boat and informs him of the continuing rise of flood waters. This would be his last chance for a ride to safety. The man replies, "No thanks, I have faith that God will help me."

       Unfortunately, the man is swept away and drowns. Now he stands before God and asks, "I thought you were going to rescue me?"

       God replies, "I sent you three boats, what more did you want?"
