TELEPATHIC INTUITION
Think of yourself as an island, surrounded by water.
Now imagine someone else next to you, for instance your sibling, spouse or life partner.
On the surface, we appear as two separate bodies.
But, our eyes can only see what is above the water line.
So, let's take a look below the water line.
Perhaps we are not really mysteriously free-floating entities.
What if we are connected to every fellow human being and living thing, even if from our current vantage point we don't appear to be, or aren't always consciously aware of the connection? Maybe we simply appear to be disconnected and separate from our friends and neighbors.
Just as the earth was round long before explorers were finally able to build boats strong enough to survive the journey of proof, our current lack of understanding about how it works, and our current inability to reliably and objectively measure telepathic intuition, does not mean it does not exist.
| "That what you do to others, you do to yourself;
what you fail to do for others, you fail to do for yourself; that the pain of others is your pain, and the joy of others your joy, and that when you disclaim any part of it, you disclaim a part of yourself." Neale Donald Walsch | ||
The other way I like to frame this for people is using our body's physiology as an example. So much happens in our bodies that we do not consciously direct and control. When we swallow that bite of cookie, we don't think, "Okay, pancreas, please send out some insulin from the Islet of Langerhans cells," nor are we aware of it happening -- yet it happens.
How? Through the beauty of autoregulatory feedback systems that respond to chemical triggers and protein peptide messengers called neurotransmitters (they were first discovered in the brain, but they are everywhere in our bodies). These exquisite feedback loops are part of our body's design, and make life a whole lot more efficient. This feedback system worked beautifully even before scientists understood how the communication was happening.
So the next time you think, "Gosh, I should give Jan a call," and the phone rings moments later, and it's Jan calling you, be reverent but not surprised. It's simply confirmation that your autoregulated feedback communication system is working.
Do keep in mind that the system only works if the receivers are paying attention to and acting on the signals they receive. They may have the thought, "I should call .....", and then don't call, because they dismiss this thought that appears to come from nowhere as trivial or silly. Alternatively, they may get the intuitive thought when they are in the middle of doing something else, and can't spare the time to call at the same moment they have the thought. Or, they may also have so much background noise in their heads, that they can't hear your communication with any real clarity. By using meditation techniques to quiet the mind's chatter, people often can learn to hear intuitive messages more clearly.
| "A human being experiences himself, his thoughts and feeling as something separated from the rest, a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest to us." Albert Einstein | ||
