MYERS-BRIGGS PERSONALITY TYPE
Using Test Instruments and Inventories
As an MBTI© qualified administrator, let me assure you that the step-by-step process we just went through is more likely to determine your best-fit type accurately than any of the inventories below. However, if you want to play around and see what type you are assigned using one of the instruments below, have fun!
SPELL CHECK: STEP FOUR
Take a personality type inventory.
- Getting the same result on two or three different "tests" does not increase the probability you've identified your best-fit type correctly.
Most people who design their own Myers Briggs personality type tests use fewer questions than the MBTI©, and ask similar questions, often measuring someone's sociability rather than their source of energy, or what is valued, rather than what is natural.
Your childhood background, early employment and mental health status combine to determine what feels or seems most natural today, which may or may not be your true natural personality type.- Remember that no test can distinguish between learned/valued behavior and inborn behavior.
NOTE: I do not endorse any of the tests below as a way to determine your best-fit type. Remember, even the most researched and validated inventory (the official MBTI© ) identifies best-fit type wrong as much as 47% of the time in some groups - and they have been developing and researching the instrument since the 1930s.
